Big Sur Half Marathon Introduces Virtual Goodie Bag

The Big Sur Half Marathon has created a “Virtual Goodie Bag” for race participants to cut down on waste at the seventh presentation of the event. The race is scheduled for Sunday, November 15, 2009.

Instead of receiving a bag of freebies at the race expo, runners will get an email telling them how to access their Virtual Goodie Bag online.

When they go to the website, they’ll see a list of images that send them to various websites or allow them to print a coupon for a giveaway.

The bag includes things like: Flyers for marathons and running vacations around the world, Team in Training information, a coupon for Dole fruit, a GU Chomps coupon, free post-race meal at the Monterey Marriott, other local Monterey area incentives, and sponsor information.
